Fearful of becoming ‘Palestine,’ Jordan chimes in on peace talks

Jordan will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state, the Kingdom’s foreign minister declared, expressing a latent Hashemite fear of Jordan becoming the de-facto Palestinian state.

“Whoever thinks Jordan will become someone’s alternative state is delusional,” Nasser Judeh told members of parliament Sunday evening during an update session on the peace process and the recent visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Jordan.

“With regards to the rumors surrounding the Jewish state, Jordan’s consistent position — aligned in this regard with the Palestinian position — is that this formula and this proposal is unacceptable,” Judeh was quoted by the official Petra News Agency as saying. He was apparently referring to reports that Kerry’s framework proposal will provide for recognition of Israel as the Jewish state...

Feb 4 In 1948 Jordan was set up by the UN as the Palestinian state.
Jordan will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state, fearing Jordan becoming the de-facto Palestinian state.
Jordan invokes 1994 peace treaty with Israel for a say in scary Kerry Jordan Valley and Jerusalem Evil plan.
King Abdullah filed a strong protest with John Kerry against his failure to address issues involving the
Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Kerry did not factor in past treaties between Jordan and Israel.

Israel emphatically objects to withdrawing its troops from Jordan Valley or evacuating settlements there.
This danger has worsened since ISIS jihadists seized territory in western Iraq.
Amman does not want to see Palestinian forces along the Jordan River border.

Kerry ignores Jordan status with regard to the Jerusalem Temple Mount. Jordan King Abdullah emphasizes
that any solution of the Palestinian refugee problem must not overlook the Palestinians living in Jordan.
NOTE: In 1948 Jordan was set up by the UN as the Palestinian state..

UN Security Council to meet on Israeli-Palestinian violence
The United Nations Security Council will hold a special meeting on Friday to discuss the recent spate of violence between Israel and the Palestinians in which 39 people have been killed over the past two weeks. The meeting, which diplomats said was called at the request of council member Jordan, will include a briefing from the UN secretariat on the situation on the ground and will take place at 11 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT), the United Nations said on Thursday.
