there just seems to be so many of these going off lately... another volcano just erupted... Volcano erupts near Guatemala City By Gustavo Valdes, CNN May 28, 2010 -- Updated 0601 GMT (1401 HKT) (CNN) -- A volcanic eruption covered the Guatemalan capital with ash Thursday evening, prompting evacuations and shutting down the city's international airport, government officials said. Pacaya volcano, located about 15 miles (25 km) south of Guatemala City, began erupting around 7 p.m. (9 p.m. ET). At least 1,800 people have been placed in shelters after four villages near the volcano were evacuated, said David de Leon, spokesman for the national disaster commission. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americas/05/28/guatemala.volcano/ |

Chile Eruption Hell on earth: Monster volcano This towering plume of brown ash is clearly visible from space as a Chilean volcano continues to violently erupt. RARE EARTHQUAKES SHAKE AMERICAN EAST COAST, ROCKY MTN STATES Two rare earthquakes have hit the U.S. in two days — a 5.9 magnitude tremor epicentered in southern Virginia on Tuesday shook the White House, Capitol and Pentagon and was felt up and down the Eastern seaboard; and the largest earthquake in Colorado and New Mexico four decades occurred on Monday. Until now, I’d never experienced an earthquake before. While the one here in hte D.C. area was relatively mild (compared to the recent one in Japan, for example), it made me think of the column I wrote last month, entitled, “The Lord is shaking the nations physically, spiritually, financially: Why, and how should we respond?” A few excerpts might be worth reconsidering today: Read more: http://flashtrafficblog.wordpress.com/2011/08/23/rare-earthquakes-shake-american-east-coast-rocky-mtn-states/ |

There's a New Volcano to Worry About, and This Time It's in the USA Where: AK, United States January 3, 2012 at 9:37 AM | by kjb | Comments (0) As you know we’re still in the first week of the new year, but there’s already a brand new volcano—complete with ash-cloud potential—getting ready to wreak havoc on air travel. Unlike the volcanoes over in Europe or down in South America, this one’s a little closer to home, and it’s a heck of a lot easier to pronounce. Mount Cleveland—just rolls off the tongue—is located within the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska, and scientists believe that it’s getting ready to celebrate 2012 by starting to shake, rattle, and roll. Just over a week ago there was a little volcano hiccup that sent a whole bunch of ash and other particulate into the skies, but things quickly dissipated and flights weren’t really affected. The concern still remains, as the tippy top of the volcano is right in the way of one of the main commercial flight paths between North America and Asia. The initial eruption—if you can even call it that—only sent stuff up into the air to around 15,000 feet. Since most planes do their thing at 30,000 feet or above it wasn’t that big of a deal. So for right now your flights over the Pacific and onto Asia are safe and sound, but it’s just a reminder that Mother Nature can change your vacation or travel plans if she’s having a bad day. http://www.jaunted.com/story/2012/1/3/6296/60954/travel/There%27s+a+New+Volcano+to+Worry+About%2C+and+This+Time+It%27s+in+the+USA |

7.2 magnitude earthquake shakes central Chile![]() People gather outside a supermarket after an earthquake was felt in Talca, Chile, Sunday, March 25, 2012 A major quake hit central Chile on Sunday, rattling buildings in the capital and triggering a coastal evacuation, but there was no serious damage and big mines in the world’s No. 1 copper producer were operating normally... ...The 7.1 magnitude quake struck 27 kilometres north northwest of the town of Talca at a depth of 35 km., the U.S. Geological Survey said, revising down an initial magnitude of 7.2... Read more: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/72-magnitude-earthquake-shakes-central-chile-no-reports-of-fatalities/article2380815/ 7.0 Earthquake – The New Normal? ...7.0 seems to be the new normal. It wasn’t long ago that a temblor of this magnitude was a big event, now it’s just another news story that comes and goes and most people don’t give it a second look, unless it’s in their back yard. When we look at what I believe is an increase in both frequency and magnitude of earthquakes, it begs the question, is this business as usual or something more? I have stated numerous times that we are in the birth pains, the period of time that Yashua/Jesus told us would have signs that would herald is coming back. One of these signs is that there would be earthquakes in various places. When this was written down almost 2000 years ago there was no way to track this, now in the modern era, I get tweets on my I-phone and computer informing me of the location and magnitude of the earthquake... Villages rocked by volcano eruption (UKPA) – 2 hours ago A 17,886ft volcano outside Mexico City has exhaled dozens of towering plumes of ash and shot fragments of glowing rock down its slopes, frightening the residents of surrounding villages with hours of low-pitched roaring not heard in a decade. A white cloud of ash, gas, water vapour and superheated rock spewed from the cone of Popocatepetl high above the village of Xalitzintla, whose residents said they were awakened by a window-rattling series of eruptions. Mexico's National Disaster Prevention Centre said that a string of eruptions had ended in the early morning, then started up again at 5.05am, with at least 12 in two hours...
